Visendo fax Suite Search Integration
Visendo Fax Suite supports Tiff documents as source or destination of the fax communication Flow, that makes easier integration and collaboration with document management systems for indexing, search, enterprise document workflow.
You just need to enable the Tiff format in the Visendo Fax Server or Visendo fax@Mail and the to add the specific folders to the Search index to be periodically scanned.
We will begin to present how to install, integrate and use the Search feature. That integration is applying in combination with following Microsoft products :
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008
· Microsoft Search Server 2008
· Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 , 2010
· Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 , 4.0
· Microsoft Exchange Server 2010
· Windows 7
- Windows Server 2008 R2
Installing Windows TIFF IFilter On Windows

Install Windows TIFF IFilter with Windows 7
| Go to Control Panel, click Programs, and then click Turn Windows features on or off. Select the Windows TIFF IFilter check box. |
After you complete these steps, new TIFF image documents that are added to indexing locations will have their contents indexed. If there are already TIFF image documents in indexing locations, they won’t be indexed unless the user rebuilds the index as follows: It suppose that you have the Windows Search Activated
- Click Start, type Indexing Options in the Start Search box, and then open it. Click Advanced, and then click Rebuild.
Uninstalling Microsoft Office 2007 Indexing Service Filter removes associations between Windows TIFF IFilter (if installed) and TIFF extensions. To fix this, reinstall Windows TIFF IFilter.

| Click Start, click All Programs, click Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager. In the console tree of Server Manager, click Features, and then in Feature Summary, click Add Features. Click Features, and then click Add Features. Select the Windows TIFF IFilter check box, and then click Next, Install. |
By default, the Windows TIFF IFilter uses the default system language to determine which language dictionary to use during the optical character recognition (OCR) process. This Group Policy setting allows you to select one or more preferred OCR languages (they must be from the same code page). This can considerably improve OCR accuracy for documents with multiple-language content.
To set preferred OCR languages
| Open the Local Group Policy Editor as follows: Click Start, type gpedit.msc in the Start Search text box. Under Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates. Expand Windows Components, expand Search, and then click OCR. Double-click Select OCR languages from a code page. Click Enable, and then select one or more languages. |
This setting bypasses Windows TIFF IFilter performance optimization mechanisms that are designed to skip the OCR processing for images that do not contain text.

To force OCR of every page of a TIFF image document
| Open the Local Group Policy Editor as follows: Click Start, type gpedit.msc in the Start Search text box, and then press ENTER. Under Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates. Expand Windows Components, expand Search, and then click OCR. Double-click Force TIFF IFilter to OCR every page in a TIFF document. Click Enable, and then select one or more languages. |
